Fashion Friday

I love the fall for lots of reasons, but recently what I love is this cooler weather. Where I live, it is usually very warm year-round. But this time of year it (finally) gets quite a bit cooler in the evenings. Evening times are also when I offer most of my sessions.  My recommendation for what to wear this time of day is layers!  Not only do layers offer lots of dimension and style to your look, they also allow you to stay warm once the temps drop. I think this family photograph demonstrates the layered look quite well. I adore the little girl's skirt! That's probably my favorite part. Notice how each family member has some sort of layering going on in their attire. Everyone looks so pulled together! I also love the unexpected pop of color in the mom's shoes. Just so fun!

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your weekend!

Fashion Friday

Hey friends!  I love having my family photographed. The whole process is exciting for me... except for one aspect, and that is choosing everyone's attire!  Gosh, this is so stressful.  Maybe it's just me, but I really stress out.  I mean, choosing what my kids are going to wear on a daily basis is sort of a task. So for me, finding cute, comfortable and coordinating attire for all five of us is a huge job. Actually, I don't really think I'm alone in this aspect of the picture-taking process.  I've had a few people ask me what to wear before their photo session. So I've decided to dedicate one day of the week to this topic.  I'm going to feature a group of coordinating outfits that hopefully will inspire you and be at least somewhat helpful.

I adore these outfits! The main thing I love about them is that you could probably find at least half of the pieces in your closet already. I bet everyone has a pair of jeans and a button down shirt that they could already use. Purchasing accessories or accent pieces instead of an entire outfit might be a bit of a stress relief. And if you're on a budget (like me) that is a huge plus! Another thing I like is that they are all coordinated using red.  I think red looks great in photos.  It can be kind of tough to find a matching red piece for everyone, but that's what I love about these.  Red is incorporated into each outfit in some way without each person having a matching piece. I also think these look so wearable (is that a word?). They're natural, down to earth, relaxed and casual but at the same time very put together.

Ok, I did it. My first Fashion Friday! Let me know what you think or if there's anything else you'd like to see featured here!
