Rylee | Four Month Portraits

In my opinion, one of the most bittersweet things in life is seeing my babies grow up. I probably have thousands of pictures of my own three children at various times in their lives. I know I will treasure them all when they are grown and have moved out and have families of their own. It's not something I like to think about, but I know letting go is part of being a parent.

Not long ago, I had the privilege of photographing a sweet little newborn girl named Rylee. She is now an adorable four-month-old with the most precious smile you've ever seen. I know the last four months have flown for her sweet parents, and I have treasured being able to document parts of their journey as a family over the last couple of years. At Rylee's newborn session, I asked her mommy, Fallyn, if she would be willing to let me come over every few months and document a little bit of Rylee's first year of life. I'm so glad she said yes.

Rylee, you are the cutest four-month-old ever. I can't wait to see your sweet cheeks again!

C Family | Outdoor Family Session

I'm so glad I got to finally meet the C family. It was such a pleasure getting to know them a little bit during our session; such a fun family to work with. As with any hot, muggy Georgia evening in May, we had plenty of bugs accompanying us during our time together and even saw a snake slither past us! (A first for me!) Yikes! That didn't stop the smiles and laughter, though.

I'm so glad to meet you, C family! Enjoy your pictures!

Baby Rylee

i tip-toe /
hush, hush /
pitter-pat /
goes my heart //

i dreamed of you /
but i never knew /
how sweet and lovely //

At nine days new, I got to meet Miss Rylee Grace. Oh, my heart. What a little angel. I loved being able to see her mama and daddy in their first days of parenthood. These days are often a blur because everything is so new, lack of sleep, a whirlwind of visitors... it can get crazy.

Fallyn & Mitch, I hope these brief moments, captured forever, help you remember how tiny, how precious and how miraculous life is.  I'm so happy for you two!

Fallyn's mother was behind the scenes the whole time. Such a sweet grandmother she is. I'm glad I was able to meet you, CiCi!
